LALAMUSA: Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Khurram Shehzad has directed departments concerned to ensure comprehensive security and cleanliness arrangements in the city for Christmas celebrations.
He expressed these views while addressing meetings of the Christian community leaders here on Thursday.
The DC announced that five economical markets (sasta bazaars) would be set up on the occasion to facilitate the people of Christian community.
All the commodities like food, sugar, meat and other edibles would be available on subsidized rates.
Khurram Shehzad said that these sasta bazaars would be set up at Church Bhimber Road, Children Park Gujrat, Service Road Lalamusa, G T Road Kharian and G T Road Sarai Alamgir.
And these Christmas bazaars would remain open through December 22 to 24 from 9 am to 4 pm.
He directed to install walk through gates on all the entry points of these bazaars.
He also directed the chief officers of Municipal Corporation and Municipal Committees to ensure the cleanliness of all graveyards of Christian community.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Malik Ghazanfar Ali Awan, Assistant Commissioner Afzal Hayat, DO Industries Akram ul Haq, DFC Nusrullah, Chief Officers and members of Christian community and others were also present.
