KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday issued notices to Mayor Karachi, Secretary Local Bodies, and District Municipal Corporations (DMCs) till 17th January in a case pertaining to non-payment of salaries to the teachers of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) schools.
The SHC heard the plea filed a group of teachers who stated before the court that 240 teachers of the KMC have not been getting salary since 15th December 2015.
The education employees performed their duties during census and election 2018, the teachers said They said that teaching and non-teaching staff are performing duties regularly, but their salaries were stopped without telling any reason.
Later, the hearing was adjourned to the date to be fixed in office.
