Yet another Rangers check-post was attacked by unknown men with a cracker bomb in Korangi on Monday, increasing the total number of such attacks to four this month. The incident took place at Korangi No 2-1/2; however, no casualties were reported. The criminals managed to flee from the scene lobbing cracker at the check-post.
Following the incident, heavy contingent of police and Rangers besides rescue teams rushed to the site and cordoned off the area. Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) collected evidence from the scene. Meanwhile, LEAs also conducted search operation at nearby localities. The blast created fear among the area people. Motorists also faced hardships due to blockage of link roads at the area in the wake of blast.
A few days back, a Rangers spokesman said that for the past few days, a militant wing has been trying to create tense in Karachi and inciting the public towards hatred and violence. The militant wing might be responsible for the attacks on the Rangers check-posts, he added.
