Final touches have been given for holding the biggest All-Pakistan Youth Carnival with the name of Mega Challenge (MC-16) on March 5-6, 2016 at Qayyum Sports Complex under the aegis of Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs Khyber Pakhtunkhwa here.
This was stated by Additional Secretary Sports, Youth Affairs and Tourism Tariq Khan while talking to media men during his visit to Qayyum Sports Complex to review the overall arrangements so far made for holding MC-16. Accompanied by DG Sports and Youth Affairs Miss Rashida Ghaznavi, Director Youth Arshad Hussain, Muhammad Usman of Liaison Corporation, the consultant partner for MC-16, Tariq Khan visited each and every venues selected for holding the event wherein female and male students of more than 200 leading educational institution across the country will be participating in 27 different competition comprising Qira't, Naat, drama, thematic art, painting, calligraphy, short filming, photography, Urdu signing, English singing, cultural dance, music band, English Declamation (Serious and Humorous), Urdu Declamation (Serious and Humorous), English Essay Writing, Urdu Essay Writing, Bait Bazi, Quiz, Business Plan, Ad Making, Spelling Bee, Stand Up Comedy, Extra Ordinary Talent, Console Gaming (FIFA), Hiko Singing, Hinko Mushara.
The participants will be provided free accommodation, free transportation (inter-city), grand prizes will be awarded with free registration and free refreshment during event, he added. He lauded the efforts of the Liaison Corporation (LC) for masterminding the Mega Challenge first in 2013 wherein only youth from Peshawar took part in various competitive events, followed by similar event on KP level in 2015 and now the MC-16 is going to organise at all Pakistan level. He said the aim and objective of holding MC-16 is to promote the soft image of the province besides dispelling wrong and negative perceptions of declaring KP and particularly Peshawar as a no go area.
