The protesting doctors here put off their strikes after successful talks with government, which paralysed healthcare services at major teaching hospitals and other medical facilities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The decision was come after holding hours long deliberations between leaders of doctor's community and KPK Chief Minister Pervez Khattak here.
The representatives of the Health Co-ordination Council and 13 other health workers' associations met with the CM and apprised him about their demands especially implementation of the Essential Service Act in the hospitals. The representatives of the health workers said that the provincial government has accepted their demands including health allowance and duty hours, therefore, they have called off their strike. Member of the council Dr Alamgir said that the provincial government has verbally accepted their demands and no written assurance was given to them.
