It is heartening to learn that the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) as per its long standing practice of awarding Export Trophies to the best and outstanding exporters of the country and also bringing out the Export Award Souvenir. FPCCI's annual event of distribution of export performance trophies is an occasion to honour start performers, who have toiled hard and rendered invaluable services to Pakistan by earning foreign exchange for the country.
This also serves to cultivate a healthy competition in export performance to encourage quality products, high standards and a firm commitment to improving productivity, harnessing new markets and meeting the international challenges among the exporters of Pakistan. These excellent performers must be complemented and their services lauded for their dedication and hard work.
In the context of Pakistan and in the prevailing critical times the growth in exports is the only option for the recovery of the economy. There is an urgent need to bring about a fundamental Change in our approach and attitude. There has to be a firm commitment from top to bottom which should be shared objective of the entire nation; there is a need to persue an intregated approach wherein public and private sector work as partners to facilitate and promote an export culture. In last, I would like to congratulate all the export winners and wish them the best for the future.
