Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that PML-N government is implementing the agenda of public service and billions of rupees are being spent on provision of education, health, clean drinking water, transport and other basic amenities to the masses.
Talking to a delegation of Members Punjab Assembly belonging to PML-N and party office-bearers, here on Sunday, the chief minister said under a balanced development policy, special attention is being paid to the development of cities and rural areas of the province, mega projects are being implemented expeditiously throughout the province, a large number of people are benefiting from the development strategy of the Punjab government and mega projects completed in the province.
He said thousands of people are travelling by Metro Bus service daily and availing respectable, comfortable, safe and economical travelling facility, the project of Lahore Orange Line Metro Train is also being implemented speedily and this project will change the transport system of the country.
The chief minister said a modern transport system is a sign of civilised societies, while the government is providing funds of billions of rupees for education and health projects, improvement of transport system is also among the priorities of the government.
He said whereas the government has given the biggest budget of the country's history this year for the development of health sector and provision of medical facilities, it is also spending huge resources on the promotion of quality education and implementation of educational programmes. He said the PML-N government is utilising every penny of public money in an honest and transparent manner for the welfare of the people and provision of basic facilities to them, splendid projects like metro bus service and metro train are for the benefit of common man and are example of utilisation of funds on welfare of the masses.
"Metro bus system in Lahore and Rawalpindi-Islamabad has been widely appreciated and a similar project is also being implemented in Multan expeditiously which is a big city of south Punjab. He said the completion of this project will result in speedy and inexpensive transport facility to the people of the area, work has been started on metro train project which is a unique project in the history of the country and its completion will result in availability of intentional standard transport facility to the citizens.
It will bring about revolution in transport system and introduce a new culture in transport sector in the province. Public service and improvement of living standard of the masses is the manifesto of PML-N government, therefore, funds have been diverted to less developed areas for bringing the deprived segments of the society into mainstream of development.
Members of PML-N delegation while paying tributes to Shahbaz Sharif for development of education and health sectors and bringing revolutionary changes in transport system, said that Chief Minister has developed the province in the real sense and laid a network of development projects in the province for facilitating the masses.
