Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman, Imran Khan warned on Tuesday that democracy is under threat due to 'bad governance' in the country. Talking to media after visiting Bomb Disposal Squad Unit in Peshawar, Imran said the entire country is asking the government to improve governance. He said that people of Karachi are happy with the military as crime rate in the city has significantly decreased following the launch of operation against criminals.
Highlighting the achievements of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police in coping the menace of terrorism in the province, the PTI chief said crime rate in the province has reduced by 60 percent. He said Peshawar Corps Commander also lauded the efforts of KP police in countering terrorism. Imran said the police cannot be successful until the local population has confidence on the law enforcement agencies.
The PTI chairman claimed no case was registered against any person on the basis of political affiliations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. "Police registered cases against our each candidate in Sindh," he lamented. Earlier, accompanied by Chief Minister, Pervez Khattak, and Inspector General of Police, Nasir Khan Durrani, KP Minister for Education, Atif Khan, MPs and others, PTI chief visited the bomb disposal squad unit in Peshawar, and lauded the police and security for rendering matchless sacrifices for restoration and maintaining of peace.
