Pakistan took serious note of a scheduled meeting cancellation of chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) with his Indian counterpart in Mumbai as well as other events involving Pakistani nationals that had been disrupted recently due to protests by Hindu extremists
"We have taken serious note of the increasing number of violent protests aimed at disrupting scheduled events in India involving Pakistan nationals", said Foreign Office spokesperson Qazi Khalilullah while commenting on cancellation of a scheduled meeting of PCB chairman Shehryar Khan with his Indian counterpart. He said that the cancellation of the meeting of Chairman PCB with his counterpart in Mumbai, due to the protests by an extremist organisation, is the latest in a series of such incidents that have taken place in the recent past. "Effective measures are required to prevent continuous recurrence of such incidents in India," he added.
Hindu extremists of Shiv Sena stormed the office of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in Mumbai on Monday during a meeting of Shehryar Khan with his Indian counterpart Shashank Manohar. The extremists ransacked the office and chanted slogans against Pakistan and demanded immediate return of the PCB chairman to Pakistan. Earlier, the Hindu extremists of Shiv Sena also tried to disrupt a book launching ceremony in Mumbai by a former Pakistani Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri. Similarly, the organisers had to be cancelled a concert by renowned Pakistani Ghazal singer Ustad Ghulam Ali after the threats by Shiv Sena.
