Punjab Minister for Special Education Asif Saeed Manhais has said that 28,850 special students (18,546 male and 10,304 female) have been enrolled in the institutions of Special Education. He said that 10,410 hearing impaired male and 6,344 female, visually impaired 1377 male and 595 female, physically disabled 1,507 male and 600 female, mentally challenged 3,341 male and 1,280 female, slow learners 1,813 male and 1,184 female and 116 male and 283 female in other categories are getting quality education and training in the rehabilitation centres, schools and colleges of Special Education.
He further said that Educational and Physical Training Institutions of Special Education provided quality education and training to the special students so that they would be able to live in the society with respectable manners. Asif Saeed told that Punjab government is taking keen interests to set up more educational and training centres for the betterment and rehabilitation of special children.
