Private schools allowed 10 percent raise in fees: Khuhro

Permitting the private schools to raise fees by 10 percent, the Sindh government has decided to form a joint parliamentary vigilance committee to review the cases of fee raise by private schools. Speaking to media persons after a meeting with the representatives of private schools, Sindh Education Minister Nisar Khuhro said that the private schools had been allowed to increase 10 percent fee. "Those not complying with the government's instructions would be dealt with as per law," he added.
He said that a complaint cell would also be established at the office of directorate schools. Khuhro said that the process for registration of schools would also be made strict. He said that show-cause notices would be served to schools if found involved in violation of the rules.
He said that a joint parliamentary committee would be constituted within next seven days. "Those schools who want more than 10 percent raise in fee should contact the proposed committee," he added. He further said that the private schools would not be allowed to harass parents on the pretext of education.
