The Lahore High Court on Tuesday restrained the Federal Board of Revenue from taking any coercive measure against Arsalan Iftikhar, the son of former chief justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, for recovery of income tax. The court told the department to respond by November 3. Arslan said the Inland Revenue Department of the revenue had sent him a notice for recovery Rs 1.6 million as income tax. He said the tax assessment done by the department was much higher than his income.
