Officials of the Sindh Anti-Corruption Establishment raided the office of Sindh Text Book Board (STBB) in Jamshoro on Thursday. ACE Deputy Director Mir Nadir Abro told APP that they seized the record of budgetary expenditures of the last four years besides a huge quantity of books stored in the warehouse.
He informed that the Anti Corruption department is investigating the issue of publication of five million sets of books by the STBB for the current year. Nadir Abro said that the STBB published only 4.2 million sets and there was no record as to why the remaining 800,000 sets were not published and that where the funds meant for the purpose had been utilised. "We will issue notices to the officials of STBB to appear for investigation," he said. The deputy director informed that they are also investigating as to why the STBB is not using its printing machines to full capacity for publication of books.
