A function regarding handing over of three new Hino buses and three Toyota Hiace vans to POF Welfare Transport Service held at Ordnance Club. Lieutenant General Omar Mahmood Hayat, HI(M) Chairman POF Board was the chief guest of the ceremony who handed over these vehicles to POF Welfare Transport by cutting the ribbon. Earlier, Brigadier Taqdees Ahmed(Retd), Director POF Welfare Trust told in the welcoming remarks that Welfare Transport Service was established in 1982 in order to provide travelling facilities to POF employees and their families within Wah Cantt.
The continuous addition of the vehicles in the fleet of Welfare Transport Service is being made since its inception. In 2012, 11 Suzuki Carry and 16 Toyota Hiace vans were included in the Welfare Transport Service at the cost of Rs 36.3 million. Director Welfare Trust further added that 13000 passengers will travel through this service on six different routes within Wah Cantt while some vehicles are also reserved for pick and drop of the kids of POF employees for schools/colleges.-PR
