The business community has welcomed on Wednesday the historic deal between Iran and world powers on Tehran's controversial nuclear programme and hoped that it would bring economic stability and prosperity in Iran. President of Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) Mian Iqbal Hassan said that now no impediments in Pak-Iran gas pipeline project and a number of other projects which were affected by the sanctions. He said "I think it is very good progress and Pakistan should move quickly to begin implementing the energy agreements.
Iqbal Hassan hoped that Pakistani exports would definitely increase to Iran particularly fresh fruits and vegetables would be a demand of Iran. He expressed the hope that Iran's return to the mainstream would also "promote unity of the Muslim Ummah" by addressing the underlying different issues. The deal represents a major opening for Pakistan to benefit from the new business opportunities that would emerge once the Iranian economy is unshackled, he added. Iqbal said, "We believe Iran's re-entry into global economy would create business opportunities worth tens of billions of dollars for both local and foreign companies".
