Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf lawmakers in KP have rebuffed the allegations of provincial Minister for Mines and Minerals, Ziaullah Afridi that he was arrested by KP Accountability Commission, at the behest of Chief Minister, Pervez Khattak. The words, which were used by provincial minister, against Chief Executive of the province are strongly deplorable.
The corruption free Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is motto of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf led provincial government, so the corrupt elements will no room in the PTI, they will definite face the music, says PTI former district president, and MPA Yasin Khalil while speaking a press conference at full jam-pack hall with the party workers at Peshawar Press Club on Saturday.
The PTI MPA said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Estesab Commission (KPEC) is fully independent and autonomy body, which has availed full power as per defined rules. He further said the provincial assembly had unanimously passed an Act for establishment of the KPEC. Flanked by PTI provincial legislators, Haji Fazal Elahi, Younis Zaheer, Arbab Jandad, Mehmood Khan, female MPA Zareen Zai and other, Khalil accused the provincial minister, Ziaullah Afridi for indulging in corrupt practices and illegal transferring officials at provincial mines and mineral department. He accused the provincial minister for inflicting huge financial losses to provincial kitty, by corruption and misuse of his power.
"We understand that the arrest of Afridi was made on basis of solid evidences about his misdeed. However, the words used against Chief Minister, Pervez Khattak is completely out of the way, and unwarranted, Khalil said. Responding queries of reporters, PTI lawmakers categorically rejected impressions that provincial minister, Ziaullah Afridi was arrested following directives issued by PTI chief Imran Khan from Bani Gala, Islamabad. We had come to know about arrest of Afridi, through media reports, he said. He said the Ziaullah Afridi should face trial, rather insulting a chief executive of the province. If he was innocent so he should explain his position before the KPEC, Khalil said.
To another query about claims of Afridi he was targeted for not supporting Qaumi Watan Party (QWP), PTI MPAs said that it was party decision and policy. He said the QWP was also remained part of PTI led provincial government. So, he said the accusations were worthless and improper.
