The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced to make special arrangements for collection of duty and taxes. SBP has informed that the authorised branches of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) will remain open till 8:00pm on June 29 (Monday) for collection of FBR taxes/duties and till 08:00 pm for cheque collection and till 10:00pm for cash counters on June 30(Tuesday) for government receipts and payments. Further, to facilitate tax payers, NBP branches will accept cash transactions at their counters till 10:00 pm on June 30, 2015.
The NBP branches will settle their transactions on June 30, 2015 with respective SBP BSC Offices for which two special clearings will be arranged by NIFT ie 1st and 2nd clearing immediately after 3:00pm and 10:00pm. Banks are, therefore, advised to open their related clearing branches on June 30, till such time that is necessary to facilitate special clearing by NIFT only for FBR collections, the SBP said.
