Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar has said that Pakistan''s request for waiving bank guarantee as well as abolishment of charges on Pakistani exports transiting through Afghanistan had received a nod of approval from the Afghan President.
Finance Minister Dar had a telephone conversation with Dr Hazrat Omar Zakhilwal, Economic Advisor to Afghan President, on Sunday. Minister Dar reminded him that during the recent visit of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to Kabul, the Pakistan side had taken up the two issues while meeting with Afghan President.
Pakistan asked abolishment of both, 110% of customs duty as financial guarantees and the USD 100 charged on each 25 tons of Pakistani exports transiting through Afghanistan to Central Asian countries. Dr Zakhilwal confirmed that request for both waivers had been approved by the Afghan President and directives were being issued in this regard.
