Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) has launched protest demonstrations in phases under the theme of 'give us justice or kill us too' in 60 cities till June 14 to reject the JIT report that has exonerated Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Law Minister Rana Sanaullah' and IGP's involvement in the Model Town Lahore tragedy last year.
In the first phase, the demonstrations were held in Lahore, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Gujrat and Sahiwal in front of the press clubs on Sunday. PAT President Dr Raheeq Abbasi led the demonstration in Lahore. PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur led the protest in Faisalabad, Farhat Hussain Shah and Dr Tanvir Azam Sandhu headed the demonstrations in Gujrat and Sahiwal respectively. In Sialkot city the protest march was led by Sh, Zahid Fayyaz and Rashid Bajwa.
.The party leaders said the protests will continue till June 14 when strong protests will be lodged in three provincial capitals namely Karachi, Quetta, and Peshawar including Islamabad. The PAT leaders vowed to continue their protest till Chief Minister, former Law Minister, IGP Mushtaq Sukhera and other co-accused were not punished for killing innocent and unarmed PAT workers.
They said that after 14th June, the next and crucial phase of protest movement will be announced by PAT chief Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri.
