FO slams US drone attack

Pakistan on Monday condemned the US drone attack in North Waziristan and called for cessation of such strikes which amounted to violation of the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity. A US drone strike on May 16, 2015 resulted in a number of casualties in the Mana area of North Waziristan Agency. "We condemn such strikes which are a clear violation of Pakistan's sovereignty and territorial integrity," Foreign Office spokesperson Qazi Khalilullah said in statement.
He said that such attacks created distrust among the local populace at a time when Operation Zarb-e-Azab was moving ahead decisively and the focus of the government was to rehabilitate the civilian population. "We reiterate our call for cessation of such strikes," the spokesperson added.
