As the Meteorological department has predicted more rains during next two days, the rivers Kabul and Jhelum are already in low flood at Nowshera and Mangla with respective flow of 71,300 cusecs and 75,000 cusecs of water on Sunday.
According to the 17th May water report of Met Office 94,400 cusecs water is running in the Indus River at Tarbela dam. IRSA is releasing 55,000 cusecs water downstream the dam.
The river Chenab is contributing 47,200 cusecs water to the national water resources.
The Punjab Irrigation department is releasing about 18,000 cusecs water in the Marala-Ravi Link canal from Marala head-works on river Chenab to augment irrigation water supply to the command area of the river Ravi including Sahiwal and Multan divisions.
The report said that the Indus River System Authority is releasing nearly 22,500 cusecs water into the sprawling canal irrigation network across the country for sowing and maturing the Kharif crops including cotton, rice, sugarcane, vegetables, and fodder and fruit orchards.
In the river Indus 131,300 cusecs water is running at Jinnah barrage, 134100 cusecs at Chashma-Taunsa, 85900 cusecs at Taunsa, 40,400 cusecs at Panjnad. Inflows remain 81,300 cusecs at Guddu; 66,900 cusecs at Sukkur; and 20,200 cusecs at Kotri barrage.
Meanwhile IRSA has stopped filling the Mangla dam which is just 35 ft below its maximum height of 1242 ft so that WAPDA could carry out necessary repairs of the dam.

Scattered thunderstorm/ rain (associated with DS/gusty winds) would occur over upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, and Faisalabad divisions), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. Further, heavy falls is also expected at one or two places of above mentioned stations. Furthermore, isolated thunderstorm/rain (associated with DS/gusty winds) could also occur over Sahiwal, DG Khan, Multan, Quetta, Kalat and Zhob divisions.

Rain-thundershower with dust-storm is expected at scattered places in Islamabad, FATA, KP(Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, D.I.Khan divisions), upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, while at isolated places in Quetta, Zhob, Multan, D.G.Khan and Sahiwal divisions.

Weather remained hot and dry in most parts of the country; however, rain-thundershower with gusty winds occurred at isolated places of Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, and Rawalpindi divisions, Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
