The city police on Friday claimed to have arrested around 53 alleged criminals in different targeted raids and encounters conducted in various parts of the provincial metropolis during last 24 hours. The police said in 99 raids and three encounters carried out as a part of the ongoing Karachi operation led to the arrests of 53 criminals who were allegedly involved in various criminal activities.
The police booked eight under the Arms Act and 14 were booked under the Anti-Narcotics Act. Other arrested are 14 absconders, one dacoit and 16 others involved in different crimes. The police said they have recovered 10 handguns, 1,045 grams of Hashish and 23 liquor bottles from their possession.
