Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif visited payment centres set up in flood-hit areas of Muzaffargarh and Multan on Saturday and reviewed the process of payment of first instalment to the affectees. Talking to media during his visit to payment centre set up at Sports Complex Multan, Shahbaz Sharif said that the distribution of financial assistance among flood affectees in a transparent manner by Punjab government is a revolution.
He expressed the hope that the real revolution of development and prosperity and welfare of the people will also be brought under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He said that 50 percent of financial assistance has been provided by Punjab government while 50 percent by federal government.
He said that provincial ministers, public representatives, secretaries and other concerned officials are discharging their responsibilities efficiently. He said that financial assistance will be provided to all deserving persons and every effort will be made in this regard.
He said that special bonus will also be given to the staff. Shahbaz said that the payment of second instalment to affectees will be started from October 20 and this payment will be made on the basis of survey of losses caused to crops, houses and cattle under the second phase.
He said that meal will also be provided to the affectees on Eid. He said that sharing the grief of the distressed people is the real revolution. He went to every desk of various departments at payment centres. Shahbaz said that despite holiday on Sunday, process of payment should also be continued.
District administration Muzaffargarh briefed the CM that the payment of first instalment of financial assistance has been made to more than 10,000 families out of 12,000 affected families and six centres have been set up for distribution of financial assistance in Muzaffargarh. Shahbaz expressed satisfaction over the arrangements at the payment centres.
