Bin Qasim Industrial Park (BQIP)
With Yamaha's ambitious plan to bring in $150 million Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) for setting up a motorcycle manufacturing plant on a 50- acre plot at State-of-the-art, first of its kind Bin Qasim Industrial Park (BQIP), Karachi regains the status of one of the most attractive place for investment in the region. BQIP is being developed in an area of 930 acres by National Industrial Parks Development & Management Company (NIP), a subsidiary of Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC).
The project envisages manufacturing and selling global models of Yamaha motorcycles which have never been built in Pakistan before enabling Pakistan to come at par with the rest of the world. On attaining full production capacity, the facility would produce 45,000 units annually and the company has program to further expand its manufacturing units in Pakistan. With the setting up of a motorcycle manufacturing facility in Karachi with EFI, automatic transmission and European standard exhaust system, the company will not only be the pioneer in Pakistan but would also target the Middle East, Central Asian and African Markets and contributes towards the country's exports.
BQIP is the biggest project of NIP, a company set up under section 42 of the Companies Ordinance 1984, to establish & manage world class industrial parks all over the country. The BQIP project has been designed by M/S Jurong Singapore, renowned internationally for their expertise whereas M/S. EA Consulting (PVT) Limited with wide experience in this field is given the responsibility for subsequent Architectural Design, Engineering Services and Construction Supervision of the project.
The project offers entrepreneurs with guaranteed uninterrupted power supply through 50 MW captive power plant and all essential utilities like water, gas and telecommunication at the customers' doorstep. The most important aspect of any industrial estate or zone, is of course fulfilling the environment standards to ensure pollution-free surroundings to the inhabitants of the adjoining areas therefore, the Company have taken all measures to ensure a clean environment for the people living within and outside the park. These measures include construction of an effluent treatment plant, storm water drainage system and solid waste management.
The Company will also offer one-stop service to all the industrial units. It will also provide essential facilities like utilities, security, fiber-optic telecommunication, commercial centre and transport hubs.
The Company will establish its own estate management for the maintenance of the park, its utilities, and environment and commercial buildings with a view to satisfy customer's requirements, so as to sustain the investment goals of estate owners and occupants.
This park will provide infrastructure at par with international standards and will cater to the business need of medium and large enterprises. The Park is being developed with a focus on provision of salient features integral to an industrial park. It is proposed to accommodate those clusters with linkages to the existing Down-Stream Industrial Estate and medium and small scale industries based on plastic sector, electronics and food and beverage production units.
The Company is also focusing on improving the skills of our labour-force and this industrial park will have the facility for improving the skills of workers through the technical training centre within the park premises. By getting the training, a worker will have chance to improve his pay scale and get higher salaries besides it will help in improving the quality of locally produced goods as well as improving the standard of workers' life.
Korangi Creek Industrial Park (KCIP)
While NIP has sold out all industrial plots at the Low Density Zone of its flagship project Korangi Creek Industrial Park (KCIP), it now offers ideally suited plots for sectors like Gems and Jewellery, IT and Corporate offices at KCIP. They can now construct purposeful dedicated state-of-the-art high rise buildings of ground plus 19, which ensures them 48MW captive power generation for uninterrupted electricity, round-the-clock security, Gated entrance with perimeter wall, underground utility corridor, overall metalled road and a host of other facilities. The processing of all these facilities will be done by NIP under its one-window operation system.
A number of KCIP customers, which include food & pharmaceutical, garments/textile, light engineering & packaging & printing have already started construction on their respective plots. As soon as the industrial units established at KCIP start production, this industrial zone alone will start contributing Rs 40 billion annually to GDP and provide approximately 30,000 direct and 180,000 indirect employments. The project designed by Jurong Singapore, renowned internationally for their expertise is being developed at an estimated cost of Rs 3.3 billion which will have an investment opportunity of Rs 20 billion.

The hallmark of this industrial zone is perimeter wall with controlled entry and exit to the complex spreading over an area of 250 acres at Korangi Creek offering a safe and secure environment to the industrialists.
Rachna Industrial Park (RIP)
There is a lot of hustle bustle at the Rachna Industrial Park site as the work on access road is progressing well while the development of civil infrastructure at site is also in full swing. Meanwhile arrangements for 25 MW captive power plant on BOO basis is also in progress.
Spread over 174 acres of land acquired by NIP on the Lahore-Sheikhupura road, the park will have all utilities including Water, Power, Gas and Telecommunications are an integral part of the project. All amenities essential to a world-class, modern industrial facility including one-window operation and estate management will also be available to investors. The project is envisioned to bring PKR 3.0 Billion direct investment, contribute PKR 6.0 Billion to the GDP and generate direct employment for 20,000 individuals.
The Company has a sizeable data of industrialists interested in building their factories in the park. The Industrial Park shall cater to manufacturing of automobiles, its vendor industries, OEMs, heavy and light engineering and its allied industries, pharmaceutical, textile, etc and a technical training centre.
In this quarter NIP had launched two new projects one at Sargodha and the other at Khairpur. With the launching of these two projects NIP has introduce the concept of Rural Industrialisation, a concept India and China have successfully adopted to curb migration of rural population to urban areas.
Khairpur Special Economic Zone (KSEZ)
With the launching of KSEZ, NIP has introduced the concept of Rural Industrialisation, a concept India and China have successfully adopted to curb migration of rural population to urban areas. Infrastructure work is in full swing at the site.
Civil works of package 1, which include gate office guard room, prephery fence has been completed. Plumbing and electrical works have also been completed, whereas in external works, carriageway and footpaths are nearing completion.
This zone is appropriate for setting up date-processing and packaging plant, besides other agro-based industries. Khairpur is the city of dates, exporting different verities of dates and fetching high price for the value added products.
Other Projects
NIP is also providing consultancy to PASDEC's Marble City- Risalpur. This is a cluster based project specifically for marble and granite processing industry and is spread over an area of 185 acres. It will be located on Nowshehra - Mardan Road in Risalpur very close to Nowshehra Industrial Estate and Export Processing Zone at a distance of 2 kilometers from newly built motor way M-1 from Rashakai Interchange.
