LAHORE: The Spot Rate Committee of the Karachi Cotton Association (KCA) on Thursday decreased the spot rate by Rs 800 per maund and closed it at Rs 17200 per maund.

Cotton Analyst Naseem Usman told Business Recorder that spot rate witnessed a decreased of Rs 1600 per maund in the last three days. The local cotton market remained easy on and the trading volume remained satisfactory.

He also told that the rate of cotton in Sind is in between Rs 16,500 to Rs 17,000 per maund. The rate of cotton in Punjab is in between Rs 17400 to Rs 17600 per maund. The rate of Phutti in Sindh is in between Rs 7000 to Rs 7600 per 40 Kg.

The rate of Phutti in Punjab is in between Rs 7200 to Rs 7800 per 40 Kg. The rate of Phutti in Balochistan is in between Rs 7500 to Rs 7800 per 40 Kg.

7000 bales of Tando Adam were sold at Rs 16800 to Rs 17500 per maund, 3200 bales of Sanghar were sold at Rs 16850 to Rs 17500 per maund, 1600 bales of Mirpur Khas were sold at Rs 17000 to Rs 17300 per maund, 2600 bales of Shahdad Pur were sold at Rs 17000 to Rs 17300 per maund, 400 bales of Tando Muhammad Khan were sold at Rs 17000 to Rs 17500 per maund, 400 bales of Khair Pur were sold at Rs 17000 per maund, 200 bales of Burewala, 200 bales of Haroonabad, 200 bales of Samundri were sold at Rs 18800 per maund, 600 bales of Chichawtni were sold at Rs 17800 to Rs 18000 per maund, 200 bales of Hasil Pur were sold at Rs 17600 per maund and 200 bales of Mian Chanu were sold at Rs 17400 per maund.
