ISLAMABAD: Oil & Gas Development Company Limited OGDCL and Al-Shifa Eye Trust Hospital signed an MoU at OGDCL head office, Islamabad for conducting free eye camps across the country surrounding OGDCL fields and follow up camps at the same locations with an estimated amount of Rs 92 million against CSR initiatives.
According to MOU, OGDCL in collaboration with Al-Shifa Eye Trust will conduct 33 free eye camps surroundings various fields where OGDCL is operating. The cost breakup for these surgical eye camps is approx. Rs 92 million. These eye camps are scheduled to be held from 15th November, 2021 to 30th April, 2022 in various districts surrounding the OGDCL field. As per data available, OGDCL will conduct these eye camps in seven districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, six districts of Punjab, 11 districts of Sindh Province and eight districts of Balochistan province.
This initiative will provide opportunity for the community to get free eye care treatment including eye surgeries (Cataract), medicines and special glasses. Community participation is expected to be remarkable and hope it will be up to the satisfaction of the patients.
Previously OGDCL also established 27 eye camps worth Rs 39 million across the country at various field locations of OGDCL. It was a unique experience where non affording community took advantage of free eye care services at their door steps.
