KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 322,525 tonnes of cargo comprising 239,692 tonnes of import cargo and 82,833 tonnes of export cargo during last 48 hours ending on Monday.
The total import cargo of 239,692 comprised of 105,367 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 14,847 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 18,462 tonnes of Rock Phosphate, 18,916 tonnes of Wheat and 82,100 tonnes of Oil/Liquid Cargo.
The total export cargo of 82,833 tonnes comprised of 64,487 tonnes of containerized cargo, 12,878 tonnes of Cement, 4,084 tonnes of Clinkers and 1,110 tonnes of Oil/Liquid Cargo.
Nearly, 7972 containers comprising of 4438 containers import and 3534 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 1316 of 20’s and 1505 of 40’s loaded while 00 of 20’s and 56 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1075 of 20’s and 531 of 40’s loaded containers while 207 of 20’s and 595 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours.
Nearly 09 ships namely, Hyundai Busan, Osaka, M.T Lahore, Mol Genesis, Xin Pu Dong, Fan Shun, Apl Florida, Thorsky and Oriental Daphne have berth at Karachi Port on 20-09-2021.
About 11 ships namely, Chemraod Polaris, Budapest Express, Dm Amerald, Sc Hong Kong, Oel Badrainath, Ocean Harvestm Northern Dedication, Caledonia, Hyundai Busan Chanya Naree and Al Mahboobah have sailed out from Karachi Port.
An approximately 05 cargos namely, FMT EFES, Diyala, KMTCC Delhi, OELKedarnath and Aggelos B were expected to arrive at the port.
PORT QASIM
Berths were engaged by twelve ships during last 24 hours, out of them, two Container ships, Diyala and CMA CGM Cendrillon sailed on Monday morning, while two more ships, MSC Denisse and Nilos are expected to sail from QICT and FAP on today in the afternoon.
Cargo volume of 168,476 tonnes, comprising 139,066 tonnes imports cargo and 29,410 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 4,270 Containers (2,540 TEUs Imports and 1,730 TEUs export), was handled at the Port during last 24 hours .
Five ships namely, Safmarine Ngami, Seago Bremerhaven, MSC Loretta, MSC Paula and Efrossni carrying Containers and Coal are expected to take berths at QICT and PIBT respectively on Monday, 20th September, while two more Container ships, ‘Maersk Chicago’ and ‘MSC Esthi’ are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Tuesday, 21st September-2021.
