KARACHI: As part of its efforts to further strengthen industry facilitation through closer coordination, a senior-level delegation from K-Electric (KE) including Chief Financial Officer Muhammad Aamir Ghaziani and Chief Marketing & Communication Officer Sadia Dada, along with other members of the leadership team, visited Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI).

On this occasion, President KCCI M Shariq Vohra, Chairman BMG Muhammad Zubair Motiwala, Vice Chairman BMG Muhammad Jawed Bilwani and other members of KCCI welcomed the delegation.

During the meeting, KE management briefed KCCI members, who joined the session in person as well as virtually, about the initiatives taken by the utility to overcome challenges faced by the industry as well as about various schemes it has launched to facilitate them.

The members were also apprised about the support given to the industrial customers including 100 percent Load-shed exemption to industries since 2010 along with offering them a simpler process for acquiring new connections.

The members of the chamber were also explained about the recent addition of withholding tax on utility-bills for just non-filers across all consumer categories after the imposition of the Finance Act 2021. KE on this occasion also offered to set up a short-term hot desk to facilitate KCCI members.

While reiterating KE's commitment to facilitating the business community of Karachi, CFO K-Electric Muhammad Aamir Ghaziani said, "Fully cognisant of their vital contributions to the national economy, K-Electric has always supported the industries of Karachi. KE was Pakistan's first Distribution Company to exempt industrial zones from load-shed and it will continue to invest across its value chain to ensure it efficiently meets the growing power demand from industrial and commercial enterprises."-PR
