KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 240,104 tonnes of cargo comprising 173,623 tonnes of import cargo and 66,481 tonnes of export cargo during last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours.
The total import cargo of 173,623 comprised of 112,689 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 986 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, and 59,948 tonnes of Oil/Liquid Cargo.
The total export cargo of 66,481 tonnes comprised of 41,236 tonnes of containerized cargo, 24,845 tonnes of Clinkers, and 400 tonnes of Oil and Liquid Cargo.
A total of 8618 containers were handled out of which 3690 were of imports and 4928 were of exports. 3690 import containers comprised of 1,368 of 20s and 1,133 0f 40s. Imports empty containers were 10 of 20s and 23 of 40s. Export containers 4928 comprised of 726 of 20s and 236 of 40s. Export empty containers were of 1124 of 20s and 1303 of 40s.
There were 09 ships namely Barbara, Ital Lirica, FU Rong Song, Sweet Lady 111, Shiling, Cosco Nagoya, MT Quetta, APL Norway and Pacific Sophia are currently at the berths.
There were 08 ships namely Northern Discovry, TS Singapor, DM Condore, APL LE Havre, Ulanga, Jag Lata, Coso Nagoya and Michalakl sailed off from Karachi Port.
There are 03 ships namely Wan Hai 61, FU Rong Song and Barbara expected to sail on 17 05 2021.
There are 03 cargos namely Noro LTD, New Hunter Shipcare service and Zi Jing Song Shipping Lines expected on 17-05-2021.
PORT QASIM
Cargo volume of 184,058 tonnes, comprising 159,358 tonnes imports cargo and 24,700 tonnes export cargo, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,000 Containers (1,700 TEUs imports and 1,300 TEUs export), was handled at the Port during last 24 hours .
There are fourteen ships are currently at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim and waiting for berths, out of them four ships, Asia Evergreen, Chemroad Rose, Britain Bay and AP Astarea & four more ships, Cleantec, Sphene, MSC Paris and Diyala carrying Palm oil, Chemicals, Coal, General cargo and Containers are expected take berths at LCT, EVTL, MW-4, PIBT, MW-2 and QICT on Monday (today), 17th May, while three more ships, MSC Esthi, Maersk Columbus and Argolikos with containers are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Tuesday, 18th May-2021.
