Oath-taking ceremony of Biden: Bilawal, Zardari did not receive invitation: Babar

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari have not been invited so far to the US President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration scheduled for January 20th.

Secretary General of PPP Parliamentarians Farhatullah Babar told Business Recorder that his party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari did not receive any invitation card to attend the oath-taking ceremony of the US president-elect Joe Biden, which is scheduled to take place on January 20th. “Neither they receive any invitation nor will they go to attend the ceremony of oath-taking. The news published in the print media in this regard is not true and baseless,” he said. Babar said that we are in opposition and the US administration may not invite the opposition in such a ceremony. He said that already the health of Asif Ali Zardari is not well.

The Islamabad High Court on Tuesday constituted a medical board to ascertain health condition of former president Asif Ali Zardari who is seeking bail in a case related to suspicious transactions from the accounts of Bahria Town to fake accounts. Advocate Farooq H Naek informed the court that Asif Ali Zardari’s health was deteriorating and that he might be granted pre-arrest bail on medical grounds.
