(Karachi) In a race to broadcast breaking news first, some private TV channels aired false news on Wednesday propagating that Nadeem Babar was removed as advisor to PM on power without confirming the facts on the first hand.

On the contrary, Babar was discharging his duties as Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Petroleum and he was not associated with power division.

In a tweet, a social media user pointed out the error questioning the credibility of such news and the deteriorating standards of journalism in Pakistan.

Earlier today, TV channels aired the news that PM Imran Khan removed his special assistant on power Nadeem Babar and gave additional charge of power division to Shahzad Syed Qasim.

However, Qasim was given additional charge of the petroleum division and he will be holding power equal to a state minister.
