Nine killed in 910 accidents in Punjab

LAHORE: Atleast nine people were killed and 652 sustained serious injuries in 910 accidents in Punjab during last 24 hours.

The Rescue 1122 teams shifted the injured to different hospitals of relevant districts and tehsils. However, 390 victims who sustained minor injuries were discharged on-the-spot after providing first aid by emergency medical teams.

According to data, 442 drivers, 21 juvenile drivers, 142 pedestrians and 467 passengers were among the victims of these accidents. The statistics show that 188 accidents were reported here which affected 198 people followed by 87 in Faisalabad with 99 victims and 85 victims of 72 accidents in Multan.

As many as 726 motorcycles, 127 rickshaws, 90 cars, 43 vans, 11 buses, 33 trucks and 95 other vehicles besides slow- moving carts were involved in the accidents.
