General Motors’ (GM) executive has claimed billionaire Elon Musk’s ideas about the soon to come self-driving cars as crap.

According to Musk, the imminent Model 3 of Tesla is completely autonomous and will keep the driver relaxed. The driver could easily eat, drink, read or even sleep during the trips. However, the Director of autonomous vehicle integration at General Motors, Scott Miller dismissed these claims saying, “I think he’s full of crap.”

While talking to Australian media, Miller further continued, “To think you can see everything you need for a level five autonomous car [full self-driving] with cameras and radar, I don’t know how you do that.”

Elon Musk to take humans to Moon in next 4 months

Keeping in view, according to reports, GM is soon to bring a complete self-driving car market itself. Miller further added, “The level of technology and knowing what it takes to do the mission, to say you can be a full level five with just cameras and radars is not physically possible. I think you need the right sensors and right computing package to do it.”

This is however, not the first time Musk has been put into hot waters by his competitors and industry experts. His claims are often rubbished by rivals. This time, the rival was GM. Elon Musk has still not responded to GM’s statement against him, informed Tech Juice.

The upcoming Model 3 of Tesla that is expected to be fully autonomous will cost around $50,000 and will contain camera, radars and ultrasonic sensors to help it be self-dependent. Yet, Miller finds it hard to believe that an entirely autonomous vehicle could be implemented at this price. He claimed that a fully autonomous vehicle would take approximately 10 to 15 years to be available for its consumers to buy, as per The Sydney Morning Herald.
