Zubair seeks New Zealand's support for revival of international cricket in Pakistan

KARACHI: Governor of Sindh, Muhammad Zubair has sought support of the New Zealand government for revival of international cricket in Pakistan.

Talking to the High Commissioner of New Zealand, Eamonno Shaughnessy here Monday, the Governor said Pakistan, a forerunner in the ongoing war against terrorism, has managed to restore peace across the country, particularly in its urban centers.

Muhammad Zubair on the occasion also urged the international community to review their respective travel advisory for Pakistan in realization of the role being played by it for world peace.

The Governor invited the investors from New Zealand to take advantage of opportunities available in the country, specifically in

the resource rich Sindh and its capital Karachi.

Karachi, he said is not only the commercial hub of Pakistan but also holds a geo-strategic importance for the world and this unique status offers viable opportunities to the international investors.

Sindh Governor and the High Commissioner of New Zealand on the occasion extensively discussed importance of economic cooperation between the two countries.

Muhammad Zubair said the country during the present regime of PML (N) government has witnessed significant improvement and development in almost every sphere.

"This positivity can be supplemented by our friends through investment and cooperation for the sake of international peace," he said.

The High Commissioner Eamonno Shaughnessy acknowledged that no country can overlook Pakistan with a sizable population and also rich in wide range of other essential resources.

"We are fully conscious of the fact and therefore keen to promote economic cooperation between the two countries," said the High Commissioner of New Zealand.
