ROME: Defending champion Andy Murray slumped to another worrying defeat on Tuesday after losing his second-round match at the Rome Masters 6-2, 6-4 to Fabio Fognini.

The world number one crashed out to local favourite Fognini in just over 90 minutes as Murray's poor form continued ahead of this month's French Open, which runs from May 28-June 11.
