MIRPUR (AJK): Promoting religious harmony, brotherhood and tolerance in the country is the need-of-the-hour, AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider said here on Tuesday.
The prime minister made these remarks while addressing a conference on religious harmony at the State's capital.
Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf chaired the conference which was also addressed among others by Sadique ul Farooq, member AJK Legislative Assembly Syed Ali Raza Bukhari and federal secretary for religious affairs Nasir Hussain Gillani.
Raja Farooq Haider said AJK enjoys religious harmony as the state has strong traditions of love, tolerance and peace since centuries.
He said the government has taken effective measures for maintaining religious harmony in this regard.
He said religious elders and scholars have a pivotal role in this regard adding every citizen has to strive to establish peace in society.
The prime minister said the implementation of National Action Plan  against terrorism was yielding positive results.
He said effective measures had been taken under the plan in the AJK as well.
