Consulate General of Switzerland here organised three-day food festival from Friday. The acting Swiss Consul General Mrs Ruth Zumbuhi, Zia Isphani, Mr and Mrs Asif Mowjeed and a large number of elite of the city attended the inaugural ceremony of the food festival on Friday evening.
The Swiss Food Festival offers an exceptional opportunity here to take a culinary trip to beautiful Switzerland. The Swiss cooking is firmly rooted in dairy products. Hearty dishes come from the country agricultural background, with many made from cheese and milk.
Best known are the Cheese-Fondue and the Cheese-Raclette. The paragon dish of Swiss-German-speaking Switzerland is the Rosti - roasted potatoes with cheese on top.
