Washington received no request from Manila to alter cooperation

WASHINGTON: The government of Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte has made no formal request to the United States to modify their bilateral cooperation, a US official said on Thursday.

Despite recent statements in which Duterte declared his "separation" from Washington, "we still have not received any requests through official channels to alter our assistance to or cooperation with the Philippines," the official, who asked to remain unnamed, told AFP.
