Senate Chairman Mohmmadmian Soomro on Saturday, shortly after the opposition filed a requisition, summoned Senate session on October 7. The requisition, bearing signatures of 41 opposition senators was filed with the Senate Secretariat. On receipt of the requisition notice, Senate chairman is bound to summon the session within 14 days.
The agenda for the session would be from the opposition, that is to discuss government's failure in announcing formula on National Finance Commission award, increases in petroleum products prices, and breakdown of law and order. Other issues are President Musharraf's US visit and his address to the United Nations General Assembly, price hike and unemployment and rigging in the local bodies elections.
