Two candidates have withdrawn their nomination papers for district nazim office, leaving five candidates in the race for the top district slot.
Those who withdrew on Wednesday are Bilal Bhatti and Sultan Ayub, and those still in the tray include Mumtaz Khichi (PML-supported), Shahid Mehdi Nasim (PML), Sikandar Daultana (PML-N) Kashif Bhabha (PPP) and Noor Khan Yousufzai.
Withdrawls from the tehsil nazim slot of Vehari are Zahid Chaudhry Asif Khurshid and Nizamuddin Qureshi. The four candidates still in the race for the tehsil nazim are Saquib Khurshid (PML-N), Zahid Anwar Wahla (PML-N), Nazar Muhammad Duggal (PML-supported) and Shah Yar Sheri (PPP).
