No member of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) from Pakpattan has joined the ruling party which was deliberately spreading rumours, coming from the Chief Minister House to create disharmony and confusion on the PML-N camp.
PML-N Punjab General Secretary Zaeem Qadri, PML-N Central Finance Secretary Pervaiz Malik, Watan Nawaz Group Pakpattan Rana group leader Zahid Husnain, and Watan Nawaz Group Pakpattan leader Sardar Mansab Ali Dogar expressed these views in a press conference here on Friday.
They said the ruling party has falsely claimed Rana Zahid Husnain and Sardar Mansab Ali Dogar have joined them after winning the local bodies' election in Pakpattan. They termed the rumours as undemocratic practice and pressure tactics to allure opposition members in to their party. They all posed complete confidence and trust in the leadership of PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif and the party was united at all levels and no one was abandoning it.
Rana Zahid Husnain and Sardar Mansab Ali Dogar categorically disowned the rumours and said that at no stage they sided with the Q-League or any agreement was signed with them. They claimed they would take part in the third phase of the local bodies' election in Pakpattan under the Watan Nawaz Group and despite rigging they would win the election.
When the Watan Nawaz Group leaders were asked why they paid a visit to the Punjab Chief Minister, they failed to give a satisfactory answer and despite the intervention of Zaeem Qadri they could not avoid the issue.
However, they did say they had alliance with the Q-League in the area, and after the victory they just gave a courtesy call to the CM as their Q-partners wished to do so. "The visit had nothing to do with their change of allegiance, as claimed by the Q-League," they added.
