Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Tuesday said that a new traffic system had been approved for Islamabad. Addressing an inaugural ceremony of D-12 sector's development works, the Prime Minister said the new traffic system would be implemented within few weeks.
He said the new system would make Islamabad a model traffic city, adding the same system would also be introduced in other cities later. The Interior minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao and senior officials also attended the function.
The Prime Minister said that construction work of the new Islamabad airport would also be launched shortly near Fateh Jang road. He said the fencing work to be included in the new airport is underway. He directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to construct a new link road from the proposed new Airport to Islamabad of Motorway quality.
