A woman gave birth to quintuplet, including four girls and a boy baby in a local clinic here on Sunday morning. The delivery was supervised by a team of senior doctors headed by Gynecologist Dr Samina Khalid in Chenab Clinic, Jinnah Colony.
The father of the babies is in America while their mother was suffering from a number of gynecological and other physical ailments, including thyroid and urinary track infection.
The woman was with 30-week pregnancy, said Dr Samina Khalid, adding that bleeding forced them to conduct premature operation to save the mother and babies.
The mother has already a female baby. However, she is still under the influence of anesthesia while neonatal have been resuscitate, said Dr Samina, adding that new-born babies have been advised drips. "We will keep the babies in incubators for next few weeks to avoid their heat loss," she added.
The family has informed the father in America who is overjoyed and was trying to visit Faisalabad at the earliest, said Dr Samina.
