Sindh Advisor for Information, Salahuddin Haider, on Sunday expressed deepest regret at the unfortunate incident of maltreatment with journalists at the Governor House in Karachi on Sunday. In a statement issued here on Sunday, he described the incident of mishandling of Editors and journalists as a "lower level mistake" for which an inquiry has been ordered.
A spokesman of Governor House also expressed regret at the incident shortly before the Prime Minister's press conference, and described it as "totally unintentional".
The Advisor emphasised that the government, at every level, from top to bottom, holds the representatives of print and electronic media in great esteem.
"There was no question of showing disrespect to them, much less ill-treating them. The incident should be forgotten and the atmosphere of goodwill and cordiality marking government-press relationship must prevail," Haider said.
He expressed hope that CPNE, APNS and PFUJ would accept the sentiments of the government.
