Fifty writers from Pakistan are expected to visit Indian occupied Kashmir (IOK) in September to participate in an international literary meet being organised by Jammu University (JU) in IOK.
The University has forwarded the names of 50 Pakistani writers, who are invited to participate in a three-day India-Pakistan international writers meet, to be inaugurated from September 24, to the Home Ministry for clearance, Dean Academic Affairs of JU, Devinder Singh, was quoted as saying.
The Meet, aimed at beefing up people-to-people contact as a part of ongoing peace process between India and Pakistan, will also see the participation of writers of Indian and Pakistani origin from Canada, China, Singapore, Kenya and United States, said a news report.
The literary colloquium would provide an opportunity to the people of the both sides to suggest ways and means to further consolidate cultural relation, Devinder Singh added.
