Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Friday granted bail to former nazim Town-I Peshawar, Haroon Bashir Bilour after the returning officer (RO) announced one-month imprisonment for Bilour on charges of creating disturbance in a polling station of Sheikhabad.
Justice Shah Jehan Gandapur after hearing the arguments of the counsel of Haroon Bilour set aside the verdict of RO Nasirullah Gandapur and granted bail to him on one surety bond of Rs 50,000.
Abdul Latif Afridi advocate, the counsel of Haroon Bilour, contended that the allegations levelled against his client were baseless. He told the court that the RO has not properly registered an FIR against his client and prayed the court to release Haroon Bilour on bail.
Bashir Ahmad Bilour, president ANP NWFP, was sentenced to one-month imprisonment by RO Nasirullah Gandapur on the charges of creating disturbance during polling hours in a polling station of Sheikhabad.
