Anti-Dacoity and Anti-Robbery Cell (ADRC) police arrested four accused of three different gangs and recovered arms from their possession. According to a police statement here on Sunday, SP ADRC Altaf Qadri on a tip off formed a raiding party headed by DSP Admin Sardar Nooruddin Sanjrani and asked them to arrest the culprits who were planning to commit robbery in the jurisdiction of Jamshed Quarters police station.
As the police party reached at the hideout of the culprits, they opened firing which the police retaliated.
Police succeeded in arresting notorious dacoit Farid Shah and recovered a Kalashnikov rifle, two magazines and 40 bullets from his possession while his accomplice Mir Muhammad Baloch managed to escape from the scene.
In another crackdown, Sub-inspector Zafar Iqbal arrested a wanted culprit Rehmatullah from Baghdadi area and recovered a TT pistol, a magazine and four live bullets.
Separately, ASI Syed Abbas arrested two dacoits Nadeem from New Karachi Industrial Area and Mukhtar from Surjani Town Area and recovered two TT pistols, two magazines and nine bullets.
DIG Investigation-I, Capital City Police Karachi, Manzoor Mughal, appreciated the police efforts and announced cash reward and certificates for the members of raiding parties.
