Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (Reap) Founders Group, has asked the government to intervene for holding elections of the association scheduled for the first week of next month, in a transparent and impartial manner.
Hafiz Ayaz Mehmood, former chairman United Group and Masood Khokhar, former central vice chairman of Reap told newsmen here on Saturday that United Group is using wrong tactics for success in the forthcoming elections of Reap. They alleged that United Group has removed the names of senior members of Reap from voters' list.
They demanded of the government to appoint an administrator to conduct the elections of the association. A scrutiny committee may be formed for scrutiny of members of Reap, they added.
They further said that differences among the rice exporters are adversely affecting the rice export. To a question, they said that their group has no intention to approach court of law against the illegal actions of United Group.
