National Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussain has said war was no solution to problems and all disputes should be resolved through negotiation and other peaceful means. He was speaking while inaugurating an exhibition held in the memory of Nagasaki-Hiroshima Bombing held under auspices of the Embassy of Japan at Serena Hotel here on Saturday.
The Speaker said Pakistan and Japan shared perceptions on all international issues and both countries were striving for peace and resolution of all international problems through peaceful dialogue.
He said Pakistan believed in non-proliferation of nuclear weapons and believed in peaceful resolution of conflicts.
Amir Hussain said devastation caused by the nuclear bombs, which were dropped at Nagasaki-Hiroshima, were unprecedented in human history.
He said there was a need to educate people particularly younger generation about destruction that could be caused by nuclear weapons.
The exhibition would remind people about catastrophe caused by the nuclear weapons in Nagasaki and Hiroshima, he said.
The Japanese ambassador Nobuaki Tanaka said all countries should join hands in their efforts against nuclear proliferation.
He said Japan had suffered devastation from nuclear weapons in Second World War.
"We know its repercussions and that's why we are pleading for the world peace."
The Ambassador said it was important to inculcate in the minds of younger generation that dialogue and peaceful resolution of problems was in the interest of humanity.
