Professor Dr Haroon Rashid Chaudhry, Head of Department of Psychiatry, Fatima Jinnah Medical College (FJMC), Lahore, and Honorary Executive Director Fountain House has been elected as Vice-President of World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH), Eastern Mediterranean Region, 2005-2007 by board of directors of WFMH.
Professor Dr Chaudhry received this honour on account of his outstanding services in the field of mental health with special emphasis to community education programmes addressing major psychiatric illness, drug addiction and epilepsy. He will hold this office till 2007.
